Warm Feelings

I know it is winter and rather gloomy and rainy where I am but we did happen to have a few good days and so I tried out an old filter I have, a 85B. It is hard to come by and they do not sell them on Amazon any more as you can get the effects like it on PhotoShop. I like this old school approach better and it leave me with less post production work, these are as were only framing was done. Sepia tones without losing all the color elements.

Retro Promo Poster

With the light less then ideal at a club the pics had almost a retro Popart effect to them as well as vintage 80’s band poster ideas to them, thus this poster. Images are three of the five dudes of the popular Diamond Dust metal band.

Well I am not covering this event fully, with 13 bands each night for two weekends, that’s 52 bands, and  it is just clearly to much to cover here or photograph for that matter! I do plan on being there one night each weekend and will post the bands I do see. Here is some that I saw, sorry if your band is not here this time, nearly half of the bands playing I’ve already featured on this site in one way or another on this site over the last few months. This is not a comprehensive showing of the whole night as I did at Demoween, just a sampling.

Bands are in order they were playing at.

One More Kill

Diamond Dust (They did their trademark winning set and added a bit of flare by smashing a useless classical guitar on stage for the fans), Thanks guys for getting me out that night, I was so nice and warm at home, but glad I got to see this show again, and even stageside as your photographer, yay! Rock on!

Note: Bands posted here if you want larger quality images of your event please leave a comment expressing so and I will contact you regarding it, hvala!

One Man Show

1man-act

This was a real neat thing I saw today on the walking street, I love one man shows, real attraction getters. This guy had quite  a genius setup and show, kind of a funky/swing song with great sound effects and talent.

Three bands, one get to play other city winners in Zagreb, sounds like fun? Here is the proof of a great night of music, very different yet all entertaining and great musicians. The jury is still out who won but they all won our support for giving us a great night.

V.E. 2 A melodic rock band, talented people. Some interesting captures of them, namely the lead guitarist (sorry other band members, but the lighting was bad in other parts of the room)

SHAMROCK An Irish Celtic band that also write and play their own very popular songs done in the same genre.

NEGATIVNA ORIJENTACIJA (Negative Orientation) An Emo/Punk band that was very tight musically.

Thanks to all of you who have been viewing pics on this site in the past few days and weeks, but particularly with the Demoween bands pics this blog has made a #26 in yesterdays stats. A considerable achievement seeing that there is over 1.5 million blogs on this WordPress to compete with.

Go Grobnik! Go Demoween!

Marunada ‘08 – Vol 2

Well Sunday provided it’s own excuses to come out to the fair again so I took some pics of the bands playing that night as well.

Don’t know much about this band called The Company, as I came towards the end of their set but they were good at what they did which was a lively version of folk songs and would be a great band for a local wedding or event like this.

The act of the night I was here to see/shoot was none other then ventilating copulaters The Windfuckers. They are a tribute band in their own way, self-discribing themselves redneck Croatian rockers, howbeit with a very ’80sglam rock sound and presance uniqult their own, and also perform their own songs of this genre.

All sound musicians, the trumpet adds something to a rock band, there is also an accordion player that is not pictured.

Where would we be without a guy shirtless and in red tights, The Windfuckers surelly would not disapoint ’80s fans and pulled out all the stops and broke all the rules for this night’s event and the crowd loved it.

In the true spirit of anarchism and breaking the rules I took this picture too that to me shows a rockstar icon, “Who cares, I’m a Windfucker!” 80’s colors and all.

Next was Gustafi, I did not have time to stay for all of their set but I would like to see their concert another time when they are live as they looked like an interesting band.
